There are some public offices where experience matters. There are others where character matters even more. The Office of Mesa County Treasurer requires both.

The Treasurer is entrusted with the people’s money. That’s a responsibility that calls for integrity, accountability, sound judgment, and a servant’s heart. It also takes humility—the wisdom to know that no one has every answer and the confidence to ask the right questions, seek the right information, and rely on the talented people around you to get the job done well.

County government works best when people work together. The Treasurer’s Office partners with the Assessor, the Clerk, and departments across Mesa County every day. Good leadership isn’t about standing alone. It’s about building trust, working together, and keeping the focus where it belongs—on serving the people.

Greg Haitz is exactly that kind of leader.

Greg leads with integrity and treats people with respect. He listens before he speaks, learns before he decides, and never loses sight of who he works for. He brings confidence without arrogance, humility without hesitation, and a genuine desire to serve this community well.
