I'm Greg Haitz, a candidate for Mesa County Treasurer in the 2026 election.
Mesa County is where my family and I have built our lives, raised our family, grown businesses, and served our community. I believe the people entrusted with public money have a responsibility to manage it carefully, transparently, and according to the law.
That's why I'm running for Mesa County Treasurer.
I bring decades of experience as a small-business owner managing budgets, payroll, employees, and organizations through both strong and challenging financial circumstances. I want to bring that same disciplined, business-minded approach to the Treasurer's Office.
My priorities are straightforward: protect public funds, invest responsibly, ensure accurate collection and distribution of property taxes, provide excellent customer service, and operate the Treasurer's Office with transparency and accountability.

Why the Mesa County Treasurer Matters
The Mesa County Treasurer plays an important role in protecting and managing public funds and making sure property-tax revenues reach the local entities that depend on them.
The Treasurer's responsibilities include:
Collecting property taxes and other revenues assigned to the office
Distributing property-tax revenue to schools, municipalities, fire districts, special districts, and other taxing authorities
Managing and investing public funds with an emphasis on safety, liquidity, compliance with Colorado law, and appropriate returns
Administering delinquent property taxes and the annual tax lien sale
Serving as Mesa County's Public Trustee
Providing accurate, professional service to taxpayers
The Treasurer does not determine property values, independently set property-tax rates, or decide the county's overall budget.
It's an administrative and fiduciary office that requires attention to detail, financial discipline, transparency, and sound judgment.
I believe taxpayers deserve a Treasurer who understands the responsibility of safeguarding public money and who will focus on doing the job professionally, efficiently, and with excellent customer service.
